Our Board of Directors and staff are pleased to announce that Mental Health America of Roanoke Valley (MHARV) is partnering with Total Action for Progress – Sabrina’s Place beginning on November 1.
MHARV’s Super Hero Kids is the only program of its kind in the state of Virginia. It is a therapeutic, creative arts-based program for youth who are survivors of domestic violence to provide them with life skills and help heal from trauma. The Super Hero Kids program was created and is directed by Leah Okraszewski, and therefore it is the only one in Virginia facilitated by a Registered Drama Therapist.
As of November 1, Super Hero Kids will be managed by TAP-Sabrina’s Place. Sabrina’s Place is a Supervised Visitation and Safe Exchange Center serving parents and children throughout Southwest Virginia. It is the most qualified and most secure organization to run our Super Hero Kids program.
As you already know, MHARV will be closing its doors on October 31. While we are sad to find our organization at its end, we are excited to have the opportunity for Super Hero Kids to continue with the leadership of TAP-Sabrina’s Place.
